  Overview:

    Vicidial is an enterprise class, open source, contact center suite in use by many large call centers around the world. VICIdial has a full featured predictive dialer.  It is capable of inbound, outbound, and blended phone call handling.  

  Vicidial Audio Store:

    The Audio Store is used to keep all of the audio prompts in a central location on your VICIdial system,then allow you to select from a list the audio prompt you want to play in each of the prompt fields in the VICIdial Call Menu, In-Group, Music-On-Hold, Campaign and other sections.

  Issue: audio store Blank

    If vicidial is not configured properly for audio store related settings, you will face this white blank page while clicking the audio store, Also you may notice below error

ERROR: sounds_list CENTRAL SOUND CONTROL IS NOT ACTIVE

  Workaround:

    Follow the below steps to Enable and configure the Audio Store in the vicidial to work properly

   Step 1: Enabling the audio store

    Log in to the vicidial admin portal with admin rights

    http://server ipaddress/vicidial/admin.php

go to ADMIN--SYSTEM SETTINGS
Central Sounds Control Active :       1
Sounds Web Server                 :  enter your server ip

Active Voicemail Server: select your server from dropdown
Note:  if you are accessing your server remotely then enter you Public IP.

   Step 2: Audio store folder

Goto ADMIN tab , click on the Audio Store link, as show below

Admin  

Call Times  

Shifts  

Phones  

Templates  

Carriers  

Servers  

Conferences  

System Settings  

Screen Labels  

System Statuses  

Voicemail  

Audio Store                  

Music On Hold    

Once Clicking on the Audio Store , a folder will be created under the linux  webdirectory , but due to permission issue sometimes it will not be created , due to this audio store displays a white screen.

To overcome this issue we need to manually create that folder with necessary permission

   Step 3:  Creating the Audio Store folder

Goto Admin page,
click ADMIN-SYSTEM SETTINGS.

Now you can see a new line  Called "Sounds Web Directory" with random words as show below

"sounds web directory      :     2s3rczywss8g73czyffpyfj2rptp7n"

copy those random words
Now SSH the server using  Putty client
go to  cd  var/www/html    folder

create a folder with the same name show above 

mkdir  2s3rczywss8g73czyffpyfj2rptp7n

give permission to that folder

chmod 777 2s3rczywss8g73czyffpyfj2rptp7n

done

Now upload your voice files and check the audio store
